This morning I opened my e-mail to find a wonderful review in “The Homemade Creative” for my book, “Claudia, Wife of Pontius Pilate”. It was heartwarming to read. As an author, it is always a delight when someone tells you they loved your book, especially on the web. At 76 I don’t pretend to be wise to the ways of all the social media sites that are out there. It boggles my mind. I do tweet occasionally, and when I think of it, I write on my blog. I believe there are maybe 25 viewers who read it. I say that with a smile. I could do all the different sites, but I wonder what Earnest Hemmingway did to promote his books, or Mark Twain, or Elizabeth Gouge (English author I love), or any of the well-known writers in years past. What would Jane Austen have tweeted or put on Facebook? I love to write books and the best social media I know is word of mouth. If you read a good book, share it with a friend or many friends. Recommend it to your book club. (Did they have those in Jane Austen’s day?) I’ve spent all morning going through and attempting to answer and sort through e-mail. It is time that I’m not writing. If my readers will forgive me for not being so up to date, I will get back to work doing what I love most, writing books.
I just finished reading “Ruth” and loved it !! I couldn’t put it down.
It took me back to my early marriage days and giving birth to sons and
it provoked memories of a marriage that couldn’t continue. As I am a recent “divorced widow”,it’s calling to me in the Bryn Mawr, PA library was a lovely gift. I have always been attracted to the story of Ruth. I believe my memories and musings will continue…..
Thank you, Diana Wallis Taylor, for writing it.
Thank you Nancelyn, for your kind comments on Ruth. So glad you enjoyed the book and story. I too was divorced in 81′ after 21 years of marriage. He was an alcoholic. The blessing of that marriage was my daughter and two sons, who are the joy of my life. Warmly, Diana
