While I’ve written things, mostly poetry, since I was 12, the idea of writing a book seemed mind boggling. How do they find all that information for historical novels? How do they write in a long ago time period and make it convincing? It happened for me when I finally found my genre. It was Biblical (Historical?) Fiction.  The research turned out to be the fun part and I loved learning things about ancient Israel, the customs and lives of people at that time.  The Lord has led with each book I’ve written, putting the subject on my heart and inspiring me when I came to a dead place in my writing.  I look at my shelf of books and see The Woman at the Well, published when I was 71, followed by eight more in seven years.  My tenth book, Mary, Chosen of God, will come out around September. I am working on an 11th book now. I look back and think, what an amazing God.  There is no age limit to His giftings. I recall that He called Moses when Moses was 80 years old, to lead his people out of Egypt. There have been so many people given gifts and calling when they were in their so-called sunset years.  Why do we limit our Lord when we get older, thinking that there is not a lot we can do?  For all of you out there over 65, who feel it is too late, open your computer and write that first sentence. The book you always intended to write is there.  Just trust God for His inspiration and begin.  I have a legacy left for my children that blesses my heart and has touched lives all over our country and even in Europe. If I can help any of you, please e-mail me and I will encourage you in every way I can.
