On the freeway I saw a sign that said, “Severe Drought, Conserve water, etc.” and instead of feeling environmentally challenged to do my part, I got mad! The good people who are running our city have run amok on apartment building. In Mission Valley alone there are two huge apartment buildings that must hold at least 400 apartments each! Don’t each of these dwellings use water? How about a moratorium on apartment building if we have such a shortage of water? And how about building another desalinization plant in place of the one we dismantled and shipped to Guantanamo? We have a water source in front of us in San Diego that goes for miles – the Pacific Ocean! How is it that we, on a coastline, have a water shortage? If someone can explain this to me, I’d be open to listening. I know the builders bring revenue to the city, so use that money to build the desalinization plant. Makes sense to me, am I the only one? Sorry folks, I don’t usually vent on my blog. I don’t think I’m the only one out there though that is thinking about this!
